The German Jordanian University  (GJU ) has received its first-ever nomination for the Times Higher Education (THE) Arab Awards 2024, recognizing its exceptional contribution to leadership. The university is among eight distinguished institutions from across the Arab world to be honored with this accolade.
 
This nomination highlights the university’s innovative approach in embedding entrepreneurship into its culture and programs on regional, national, and international levels. GJU has cultivated an environment that encourages entrepreneurial thinking and behavior among its staff, students, and alumni.
 
Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, President of the University, noted that in 2021, the institution established the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH) to promote a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation. This initiative has involved training over 150 employees as ambassadors for innovation through the “German Jordanian University Innovates” program. The university has also supported several student entrepreneurial ventures, including the recent registration of a graduate-led company in partnership with the institution.  
 
Prof. Al-Halhouli emphasized that this nomination underscores the university’s ongoing commitment to advancing entrepreneurship and innovation within the academic community and beyond.
