The German Jordanian University (GJU) is honored to announce its admission as an associate member of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)—a significant milestone that further strengthens its close ties with German academia. DAAD has been a key partner in supporting GJU’s vision since its establishment in 2005, providing numerous programs, including academic and research scholarships, and fostering cultural exchange between Jordan and Germany.
DAAD’s support extends to the School of Applied Humanities and Social Sciences, the German Language Center, and the International Affairs Department. It also provides scholarships for Jordanian students and supports them throughout their mandatory German Year.
Additionally, DAAD facilitates exchange opportunities for students, faculty, and administrative staff while strengthening cooperation between GJU and its German partners in both academic and industrial sectors. This support also encompasses teaching, research, and public engagement, contributing to innovation and sustainable development.
In this context, GJU President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, emphasized that this membership enhances the university’s role as a knowledge bridge between Jordan and Germany. It also helps develop the academic and research capabilities of its students and faculty, providing them with greater opportunities to excel in a global educational environment.
Prof. Al-Halhouli expressed his deep gratitude to DAAD for its continuous support, which has had a tangible impact on the university’s development and the empowerment of its students. He looks forward to an even stronger partnership that will lead to further achievements and successes in the future.
