The German Jordanian University (GJU) concluded the activities of the Summer School on Entrepreneurship, held under the theme “Entrepreneurship in Times of Crisis” at the University’s premises in Jabal Amman. The summer school was jointly organized by GJU, Palestine Polytechnic University, and Technical University of Berlin.
Held over the course of one week, the summer school brought together a distinguished group of entrepreneurs, experts, and specialized speakers in the fields of sustainable innovation and inclusive education. The sessions addressed topics related to innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship in contexts characterized by resource scarcity and instability, in addition to the social and psychological aspects of individual behavior, ways to bridge the gap between intentions and implementation, and contextual and methodological issues related to technology and entrepreneurship.
Throughout the program, students from GJU and Palestine Polytechnic University worked in joint teams to develop innovative and actionable projects and ideas for implementation in environments facing challenges and crises. This collaborative work contributed to translating entrepreneurial knowledge and ideas into practical solutions that respond to real-world needs.
The summer school concluded with student project presentations and the distribution of certificates to participants, highlighting the importance of providing educational and collaborative spaces that promote the use of innovation and technology to develop sustainable and applicable solutions to challenges in crisis-affected environments.
The summer school served as a platform for strengthening collaboration among students and innovators from Jordan and the region, developing their entrepreneurial capabilities, and supporting the use of innovation and technology in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also sought to strengthen the role of young people in developing effective and sustainable solutions to exceptional circumstances and crises.
