The German Jordanian University (GJU) celebrated receiving the First-Class Independence Medal, awarded by His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, in recognition of its pioneering role in enhancing the quality of applied education and encouraging scientific exchange between Jordan and Germany.
The University President, Professor Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, expressed the University's pride in this high honor, which reflects its commitment to academic excellence and scientific research, especially as it coincides with the Kingdom's 78th Independence Day celebrations and the silver jubilee, adding a special dimension to this occasion.
Professor Al-Halhouli pointed out that the Medal of Independence is a strong motivation for all university affiliates to uplift their persistence in the fields of education, innovation, and scientific research to achieve leadership and excellence at the local and international levels, contributing to enhancing Jordan's position as a leading educational center in the region. Professor Al-Halhouli emphasized that GJU would continue to lead in educational excellence, contributing significantly to the development of a modern Jordan. The university aims to nurture a generation of innovative and knowledgeable young individuals, equipped to meet future challenges, and serve as pillars of the nation's progress and pride.
The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Engineer Othman Bdeir, the German Ambassador to Amman, Dr. Bertram Von Moltke, the President of Magdeburg University, Dr. Manuela Schwarz, and the representative of the DAAD, Stefan Bienfeld, as well as members of the administrative and teaching staff at the university.
