The German Jordanian University (GJU) and Cairo Amman Bank (CAB) have renewed their agreement to transform university ID cards into multifunctional smart banking cards for students, as well as academic and administrative staff. This step reflects the ongoing partnership between the two parties.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the university by its president, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, and on behalf of the bank by its CEO, Mr. Kamal Al-Bakri.
The smart card serves as an official ID for GJU students and enables its holders to benefit from a wide range of advanced financial and electronic services. These include cash withdrawals, payments via POS devices, online purchases, access to various university facilities, and payment of tuition fees.
Cardholders can also enjoy global Mastercard offers and s ervices from local and international payment providers. The card can be easily recharged at any of CAB’s branches across the Kingdom, via the LINC app through the bank’s eFAWATEERcom service, or using dedicated Kiosk machines.
The adoption of CAB’s smart cards by Jordanian universities reflects the bank’s leadership in this field and its commitment to supporting digital transformation in the academic sector, while promoting financial inclusion among youth—particularly benefiting GJU students.
