The German Jordanian University and Al Mamlaka TV have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the fields of scientific research, applied education, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The agreement also includes the development of joint training programs, as well as academic and media-related activities.
The signing took place under the patronage of the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Eng. Yarub Al-Qudah, and was signed by Mr. Jaafar Al-Zoubi, General Manager of Al Mamlaka TV, and Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, President of the German Jordanian University (GJU).
The MoU aims to utilize the university’s technical and research capabilities through the Technology, Research, and Innovation Park (TRIP)—inaugurated by His Majesty King Abdullah II in 2024—and align them with the evolving needs of the Kingdom’s media sector.
Areas of cooperation include organizing forums, training programs, and workshops that integrate the fields of media, technology, and academic research. The MoU also envisions the development of innovative digital solutions in fields such as digital journalism, content creation using artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and robotics.
The agreement also outlines the exchange of expertise through joint lectures and workshops, offers internship opportunities for university students at Al Mamlaka TV, and explores potential job placements for graduates.
On the research front, the two institutions will collaborate on joint studies and publish them in peer-reviewed scientific journals. They will also participate in student activities, open days, career fairs, and entrepreneurship programs.
Additionally, the MoU includes collaboration in utilizing the university’s specialized centers and laboratories, such as the Consultation and Training Center, the Vision Rehabilitation Center, the Road Safety Center of Excellence, the E-Learning Center, the Center for the Study of Natural and Cultural Heritage, and the University Investment Fund.
Both parties emphasized the importance of this partnership in supporting national efforts toward enhancing the digital economy and building institutional and human capacities in the media sector, contributing to the supply of qualified and well-trained talent to the local market.
