The German Jordanian University (GJU) achieved a new accomplishment in the 2024 Global English Language Olympiad for Universities, where its team "Stich of History" won first place globally in the English language test category and third place in the English language exam, a remarkable achievement that reflects the excellence and creativity of its students on the international stage.

The GJU team participated in this global event, which was held under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Azmy Muhafaza, from December 5 to 7, 2024. The event featured 57 teams representing universities from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Iraq, and Bahrain.

In addition, GJU’s team “Black Iris” earned fourth place in the theatrical presentation category, highlighting the diverse skills of the students and their ability to excel in multiple fields.

The university emphasized that this participation aligns with its strategy to enhance students' English language skills and international communication, in addition to developing their creative and cultural abilities. The university praised the efforts of the team and academic staff who contributed to this success, reaffirming its commitment to supporting students in achieving further accomplishments at both the local and international levels.

It is worth mentioning that the Olympiad was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in collaboration with Masa for International Exams, under the title “National Heritage.” The competition focused on key areas including theatrical show, projects, English language exams, community service, and teamwork, with the aim of highlighting students' abilities and promoting cultural interaction among them.

These achievements mark another significant addition to GJU journey in reinforcing its role as one of the leading educational institutions at both the local and global levels.

Supervision of the university’s teams participating in the competition was overseen by Dr. Bassmah Altaher, Dr. Iman Shashaa, and Mr. Abdulelah Albdour.
