The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, engaged in discussions with the Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, Dr. Hamid Al-Nuaimi, and his accompanying delegation, to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the institutions in areas encompassing science, research, and cultural exchanges.

The dialogue primarily centered on research initiatives and student-focused programs, emphasizing the potential benefits derived from the German Jordanian University's experiential learning model, notably through the "Year of Germany" program. This program enables students to immerse themselves in German industries, factories, and companies, enriching their educational experience. Additionally, emphasis was placed on the dual studies program, designed to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application, thus fostering a strong connection between students and industry from the onset of their academic journey.

Prof. Al-Halhouli underscored the institution's keen interest in fostering further collaboration to advance the educational landscape within both universities. He provided an overview of the German Jordanian University, detailing its founding principles, academic programs, and notable achievements, reaffirming its commitment to attaining international acclaim through its dedication to scientific research, leadership development, innovation, and community engagement.

During the visit, the delegation from the University of Sharjah participated in the inaugural ceremony of a training program aimed at cultivating leaders in sustainable development across the Arab world. This initiative, organized by the German Jordanian University in collaboration with the Association of Arab Universities and the Institute for Leadership Development in the Arab Republic of Egypt, witnessed the participation of leaders and students from 14 Arab nations.

It is worth mentioning that a recent delegation from the German Jordanian University, led by Vice President Prof. Malek Alsharairi, visited the University of Sharjah to explore potential avenues for collaboration between the two esteemed institutions.
