Amman- 30 March 2023

Director of the Foreign Cultural Politics of the German Foreign Ministry, Mrs. Anna Bartels, visited the German Jordanian University (GJU) to learn about its educational model, the educational opportunities it offers, and the political life on campus.

Bartels and the accompanying delegation met with the Vice-Presidents of the University, Prof. Malek Alsharairi, Prof. Reiner Finkeldey, and the Dean of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH), Dr. Nidal Al-Shawawreh.

GJU was introduced to the delegation as an educational project between Jordan and Germany to play a role in technological, applied research, experiential learning, and professional excellence oriented towards the needs of the labor market and industry and to make its contributions to support economic and social well-being through the development of specialized professional expertise in Jordan and the region.

On the other hand, Bartels got familiarized with the DI-TECH, which was established last year to contribute to promoting the culture of leadership in the university and society, embracing pioneering projects, and providing job opportunities for university graduates in Germany, in addition to the Syrian-Jordanian Education Program and the  Social Work Migration and Refugees programs.

At the end of the visit, Bartels conversed with a group of GJU students about political activities on campus.
