The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, met with the Executive Director of the Zaha Cultural Center, Dr. Rania Subeih, to explore avenues of cooperation between the two parties that would contribute to supporting children and youth and enhancing sustainable community development.
During the meeting, which was attended by several representatives from both the university and the center, the participants discussed future cooperation frameworks and mechanisms for developing them through the launch of distinctive programs and initiatives targeting young people. These programs aim to empower children and adolescents to develop their creative and technical skills from an early age.
The meeting also addressed the enhancement of opportunities for applied learning and volunteering for university students within Zaha centers, providing them with hands-on experience that helps shape their personalities and prepares them to enter the labor market effectively.
Prof. Al-Halhouli emphasized the importance of building effective partnerships with national institutions engaged in community and cultural work, highlighting the university’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance youth capabilities and encourage their positive participation in serving society.
For her part, Dr. Subeih reviewed a number of programs and initiatives implemented by the center, most notably the project for collecting and recycling plastic bottles, as well as providing practical training opportunities for university students. She affirmed the center’s commitment to expanding its collaboration with the university to include creative initiatives for children and adolescents that open up new horizons in innovation and applied education.
This cooperation aligns with the university’s strategic approach to strengthening its societal role and reinforcing the concept of partnership with local community institutions, thereby contributing positively to human de velopment and the educational and cultural advancement of Jordan.
