Dr. Mohammad Hajiri, Consultant Cardiologist, Cardiac Electrophysiologist, and Interventional Cardiologist at The Abdali Hospital, participated as a keynote speaker in the Research and Innovation Day 2026, held under the theme “From Research to Impact: Connecting Discovery with Application and Collaboration.” The event was organized by the School of Applied Medical Sciences (SAMS) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) in cooperation with the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society – Jordan Chapter (IEEE EMBS Jordan Chapter).
Dr. Hajiri delivered a keynote lecture titled “From Research to Impact: Clinical Innovations and Medical Technologies, and Patient-Centered Translation” during which he explored ways to transform clinical needs, challenges, and research ideas into practical and applicable medical technologies and solutions.
Dr. Hajiri highlighted the importance of strengthening multidisciplinary collaboration among physicians, engineers, and researchers, emphasizing that true innovation in the medical field lies in placing patient health and the quality of healthcare at the heart of the technology development process. Such collaboration contributes to translating research outcomes from laboratories into clinical practice.
He noted that localizing medical technologies and developing innovative solutions that respond to patients’ actual needs require the integration of scientific knowledge, clinical expertise, and engineering capabilities, alongside building effective partnerships that support the transition of innovation from research and development to practical application.
Dr. Hajiri’s participation in the Research and Innovation Day reflects the German Jordanian University’s efforts to advance applied research, connect research outcomes with the needs of the healthcare sector, and support innovation that contributes to improving the quality of healthcare and creating a tangible impact on the lives of patients and the wider community.
