The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration, His Excellency Mr. Tawfiq Kreshan, visited the German Jordanian University, where he met with its President, Prof. Dr. Alaadeen Al-Halhouli, who gave a briefing on the University, its programs, and its vision to be an applied international university that focuses on education, leadership, innovation, scientific research, and community service.
During the visit, Dr. Al-Halhouli indicated that the University was established as a translation of the visions of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, may God protect him, to be an applied university similar to German applied universities to play a pivotal role in the region, and to encourage technological progress, applied research, experiential learning, and professional excellence, oriented towards the needs of the labor market and industry, and for its contributions to support the economic and social well-being in Jordan and the region.
Dr. Al-Halhouli added that the German Jordanian University is looking forward to building strategic and real partnerships with various governmental and private national institutions to employ the expertise and competencies available to them in serving the country and providing training opportunities for its students, in addition to proposing participatory projects that serve the local community surrounding the University and thus the entire country.
At the end of the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration visited the University Library and met with a group of students.
