A delegation from the German Jordanian University “GJU” visited Al-Istiklal Hospital as part of ongoing efforts to enhance academic collaboration and develop partnerships in clinical training for nursing students, as well as to explore practical training environments within healthcare institutions.
The delegation included Visiting Prof. Susanne Wilke, participating under the Erasmus+ program from Kempten University of Applied Sciences in Germany, alongside Michael Lennertz from the Deanship of Innovation and Technology Transfer “DI-TEC”, and Humda Qamar, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Department “IAD”, in addition to Dr. Mohammad Al Zaatreh, Vice Dean of the School of Nursing “SN”.
The delegation was received by Dr. Moayad Omar, Director of Al-Istiklal Hospital, Ms. Muna Al-Rifai, Director of Nursing, Mr. Adel Hassanein, Head of the Continuing Education Department, Mr. Zuhair Al-Anati, Head of Nursing Education Department, and Ms. Sawsan Khattab, Director of Public Relations.
The visit aimed to introduce the delegation to the clinical training sites available for nursing students at the hospital and to review the work environment and adopted practical training mechanisms. It also sought to facilitate the exchange of academic and practical expertise and to compare clinical education and training approaches between both sides, which positively contributes to advancing nursing education practices and strengthening international cooperation in the healthcare sector.
The visit concluded with a field tour across several clinical and nursing departments within the hospital, where the delegation was introduced to the level of healthcare services provided and the advanced training environment offered to nursing students, supporting the development of their practical skills in line with international academic and professional standards.
