Within its efforts to strengthen global academic cooperation, the President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, received a delegation from Eastern Michigan University (EMU), headed by the University President, Prof. James Smith, accompanied by Prof. Mohammad Qatu, Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Amy Heide-Depelta, Dean of the College of Business, and Ms. Connie Smith, Director of International Relations Development, to discuss prospects for academic partnership and exchange between the two institutions.

During the meeting, Prof. Al-Halhouli highlighted the establishment of GJU, its academic programs, and its successful partnerships with German universities, which include completing a full academic year in Germany, practical training, and academic exchange. He emphasized the University’s commitment to providing students with comprehensive educational experiences that combine academic skills, hands-on training, and intercultural exchange.

Participants underscored the importance of enhancing GJU’s global network of partnerships, covering Europe and North America, alongside developing joint research projects and entrepreneurship and innovation programs. The discussion also included dual-degree programs and joint postgraduate programs currently offered with German universities.

The EMU delegation praised GJU’s experience in integrating academic learning with practical training, noting that GJU students acquire both life and academic experiences that prepare them for the Jordanian, German, and global job markets.
