Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), received a delegation from the East Amman Industrial Investors Association, headed by Dr. Iyad Abu Haltam, Chairman of the Association, at the GJU campus. Prof. Al-Halhouli welcomed the visiting delegation, emphasizing the deep relationship between the university and the industrial sector. He pointed out that the university places great importance on strengthening bridges of cooperation with economic and productive institutions in Jordan, due to their pivotal role in developing the national industry and supporting sustainable development. He also noted that the university continuously seeks to create an educational and research environment capable of meeting labor market needs and connecting students with practical realities.

For his part, Dr. Iyad Abu Haltam stressed the strategic importance of universities’ role in supplying the industrial sector with qualified professionals and creative talents. He explained that Jordanian industry, amid current challenges, needs more than ever human resources possessing scientific knowledge and applied skills. He emphasized that universities, especially GJU, have the necessary capabilities to graduate a generation of young people capable of leading change and developing innovative solutions that contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of national industries. He added that this cooperation between universities and the industrial sector represents a fundamental pillar for achieving economic development and is a long-term investment in human capital, which is considered Jordan’s true wealth.

During the visit, the delegation toured the Technology, Research, and Innovation Park (TRIP) affiliated with GJU. This park is a pioneering initiative aimed at promoting a culture of innovation and supporting the knowledge-based economy in Jordan. It works to link academic communities with industry and entrepreneurial ecosystems, serving as a center of scientific excellence and practical innovation.

Furthermore, the university president affirmed the university’s readiness to open the doors of the Technology, Research, and Innovation Park (TRIP) to industrialists and interested parties, providing extensive opportunities for joint cooperation and enhancing integration between academic research and practical applications in the industrial sector.
