On behalf of the Minister of Youth, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth, Dr. Mazen Abu Baqar, patronized on Monday the closing ceremony of the GJU 3030 Competition for university students, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA) at GJU, with wide participation from students of Jordanian universities. Participants presented innovative projects that reflected an advanced level of creativity and innovation.
The President of the University, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, emphasized that this competition embodies the university’s vision of supporting innovation and strengthening the role of youth in building a future based on knowledge and technology. He highlighted the importance of providing incubating platforms for entrepreneurial ideas that contribute to practical solutions for contemporary challenges.
For her part, the Dean of DSA, Dr. Farah Al-Atrash, stated that the GJU 3030 Competition has become a prominent annual platform for discovering young talents and developing students’ skills in creative thinking and teamwork. She affirmed the university’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The results of the competition saw The Hashemite University win first place, followed by Applied Science Private University in second place, while GJU secured third place.
In the special award categories, Princess Sumaya University for Technology won the award for Best Oral Presentation, Al-Hussein Technical University received the Problem Solving and Impact Award, and The University of Jordan was awarded the Creativity, Integration, and Inclusivity Award.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Dr. Mazen Abu Baqar honored the winning teams in recognition of the advanced awareness demonstrated by students regarding future requirements and their ability to employ technology in serving society.
The competition witnessed strong competition among participants, reflecting a diversity of ideas and an advanced level of innovation, further strengthening the position of GJU as a nurturing environment for creativity and excellence.
The competition was held with the support of the Housing Bank, which was also honored in recognition of its role in supporting youth initiatives and fostering an innovative environment in universities.
