The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Amman, Bernhard Kampmann, visited the German Jordanian University (GJU) and met with the President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, in the presence of the First Secretary at the Embassy and Head of Culture and Press Section at German Embassy Leonie Lorenz.

During the visit, Ambassador Kampmann praised the Jordanian-German political relations and the importance of deepening and strengthening education and technological development, pointing out that GJU is a shining success story between the two countries.

Ambassador Kampmann expressed his satisfaction with the German Year, where students spend an academic year in German universities and companies, pointing out the impact of this year in terms of the language and exploring other cultures and work environments.

For his part, Prof. Al-Halhouli stressed the importance of increasing and developing cooperation opportunities with the German side by focusing on joint projects and attracting German students to study classes at the university, which would enable them to learn more about Jordanian culture, customs, besides its historical components.

Prof. Al-Halhouli indicated that the civilized interaction among the youth in the two countries and the cultural exchange programs would open up horizons and opportunities for education and training for students of the German Jordanian University.

Moreover, Al-Halhouli expressed his interest in strengthening partnerships with German institutions, signing agreements to work on more projects, and opening offices for these institutions at the university, mentioning the collaboration with Goethe-Institut in Amman to establish a German corner in the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE) in Jabal Amman to display cultural works, activities, and events.
