A delegation of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Palestinian Higher Education Institutions, headed by the Commission’s Chairman, Dr. Muammar Shtawi, in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Palestine, visited the German Jordanian University (GJU) to learn about the experience of the dual studies programs at GJU and apply them to Palestinian universities.
The President of GJU, Prof. Ala’aldeen Alhalhouli, indicated the importance of the concept of dual studies in the educational system for its benefits to all participating parties, including students, faculty members, and the industrial sector, pointing to the many potentials that could be invested through establishing strategic partnerships with the industrial sector.
The delegation, consisting of the Director of the Quality Department, Engineer Iyad Abu Samra, Dr. Buthaina Ramadan from the Studies Department, Dr. Ahmed Abu Al-Rub, the Testing Department, Aseel Mahfouz and Islam Khatib from the Quality Department, were briefed on the work of the Accreditation and Quality Control Department at GJU, including the German accreditation that the university recently obtained for some of its specialties.
The delegation learned about the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH) role in spreading the leadership culture among the students and the society. Furthermore, a presentation was conducted on the dual studies program and its implementation mechanisms, where the delegation also listened to the experiences of the program's industrial partners and students.
