The EDU-SYRIA Programme has announced the results of its Bachelor Scholarship Programme for the academic year 2025/2026, awarding 103 additional scholarships to Syrian refugee students in Jordan.
The programme received 817 applications this year. After a rigorous eligibility screening process, 159 candidates were interviewed across three rounds, resulting in 103 successful awardees. These new scholarships come in addition to the 400 originally planned under the current contract. Thanks to efficient budget management, the programme was able to extend support to more qualified students in response to the high demand for higher education opportunities among Syrian refugees.
Eligibility criteria included being a Syrian refugee residing in Jordan, holding both a magnetic security card and UNHCR registration document, being under 28 years of age, and successfully completing the online application through the EDU-SYRIA portal. Consistent with the programme’s merit-based approach, preference was given to applicants with a GPA of 88% or higher who met all eligibility requirements.
The selected students will continue their higher education in Jordan under the EDU-SYRIA IV Bachelor Track, ensuring stability and continuity in their academic journey. Upon graduation, they will have the opportunity to return to Syria and contribute their knowledge and skills toward the country’s reconstruction.
The awarded scholarships span 20 academic disciplines, including Translation, Pharmacy, Information Technology, Engineering, and other fields that align with labour market demands and promote entrepreneurial development.
