Biography
Dr. Rasha Atef Mohammad Hendawi is a Computer Science academic and researcher specializing in Knowledge Representation, Knowledge Graphs, and their applications in healthcare. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from North Dakota State University, USA, which she completed in 2024 with a GPA of 4.0/4.0. Her doctoral research focused on using semantic knowledge to enhance healthcare. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Yarmouk University, Jordan.
Dr. Hendawi has experience in teaching, academic program development, and educational leadership. She served as Head of the Information Technology Department at the National University College of Technology, where she worked with the Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals programs in Computing and Digital Technologies. She also served as an Instructor at North Dakota State University.
Her research focuses on Knowledge Representation, Knowledge Graphs, ontologies, machine learning, explainable AI, and digital health technologies, with particular emphasis on healthcare data management and personalized healthcare. Her research has addressed Personal Health Knowledge Graphs, health literacy, explainable approaches to diabetes prediction, blockchain-based health data management, and digital twins for personalized healthcare.
