The Chairman of the Board of Jordan Post, Mr. Sami Dawood, visited the German Jordanian University (GJU), where he was received by the university president, Prof. Alaaldeen Al-Halhouli. Also in attendance were the Director General of Jordan Post, Ms. Hanadi Al-Tayyib; GJU Vice President, Prof. Malek Alsharairi, and Jordan Post Deputy Director General for Regional Affairs, Mr. Raed Al-Balawi.
The visit aimed to explore avenues of mutual cooperation and strengthen the strategic partnership between the two parties, in alignment with the Economic Modernization Vision—particularly in the areas of digital transformation, electronic financial services, and the opening of a new Jordan Post window on the university campus. This initiative seeks to enhance services provided to students and staff, facilitating both postal and digital transactions within a comprehensive academic environment.
Both parties emphasized the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and national organizations, highlighting its role in creating synergy, empowering Jordanian youth with digital tools, and keeping pace with developments in the local and global markets—especially in the logistics and e-commerce sectors.
The meeting also addressed potential cooperation in practical training and professional development for GJU students through joint programs and initiatives with Jordan Post. These efforts will focus on developing technical and administrative skills and providing real-world experience in an actual work environment.
The newly established post office window is designed to offer a wide range of direct postal services to students and faculty members. It stands as a model of integration between university and community services and is part of the university’s broader efforts to provide a holistic educational environment tailored to student needs.
Mr. Dawood commended the German Jordanian University for its pioneering role in delivering an outstanding model of applied education in the region. He reaffirmed Jordan Post’s readiness to expand collaboration through joint projects that benefit students and foster innovation in postal and logistics services.
Prof. Al-Halhouli expressed his appreciation for this partnership, noting the university's commitment to building strong relationships with national institutions to enhance student opportunities and support their academic and professional journeys.
This collaboration reflects the university’s dedication to realizing the Royal vision of promoting practical education and broadening partnerships across various sectors, positively contributing to both the educational process and national development
