The German Jordanian University (GJU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the German International University – Aden, aimed at strengthening academic, cultural, and technical cooperation between the two institutions and transferring the German and Jordanian educational experience to the university environment in the Republic of Yemen. This collaboration seeks to support the development of higher education and build academic capacities in line with international standards.

The MoU was signed on behalf of GJU by its President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, and on behalf of the German International University – Aden by its President, Prof. Abdulfattah Abbas Al-Saeedi. This step reflects the commitment of both institutions to expand academic partnership opportunities and exchange expertise for the benefit of students and faculty members in both countries.

The memorandum focuses on wide-ranging areas of cooperation, including the exchange of faculty members and experts, joint supervision of research projects and graduation projects, hosting visiting lecturers, student exchange, mutual recognition of academic credits, and exploring the development of joint academic programs. It also includes the transfer of the Dual Studies model and practical training programs.

Additionally, the agreement covers cooperation in German and English language education, organizing joint cultural activities to promote German–Arab cultural exchange, supporting the development of cultural and language centers, and collaborating on German language examinations, including establishing an accredited exam center in Aden.

In the scientific and research fields, the MoU provides for organizing conferences, seminars, and specialized workshops, implementing joint research projects, and collaborating in digital and technological fields through access to electronic libraries and databases, creating shared digital learning platforms, and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.

Both parties emphasized that this MoU represents the beginning of a strategic partnership that aims to enhance the quality of higher education, strengthen Arab–German academic relations, and open new avenues for regional and international cooperation in education, training, and scientific research.

This step reflects GJU’s ongoing commitment to building impactful international partnerships and reinforcing its position as a leading institution in applied education and knowledge transfer, consistent with its vision to support academic and community development locally and regionally.
