The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, participated in a panel session titled “ITO/BPO and Digital Education: Building Talent for the Future”, held as part of the “Invest in Digital Economy Forum”, with the participation of a distinguished group of experts and leaders from both the academic and industrial sectors.

The session focused on exploring ways to strengthen Jordan’s position as a leading destination in the field of outsourcing, and on the importance of aligning educational outcomes with the rapidly evolving needs of the digital labor market—contributing to the development of a knowledge-based economy capable of keeping pace with global advancements.

During his remarks, Prof. Al-Halhouli presented the experience of GJU as a pioneering model in multicultural applied education, highlighting the excellence and creativity of its graduates across various fields. He also emphasized the university’s focus on innovation and applied research through the Technology, Research and Innovation Park (TRIP), which serves as a bridge between academia and industry—preparing talent equipped to compete locally, regionally, and globally.

He further underscored the importance of strengthening partnerships with the industrial sector and adopting flexible mechanisms, such as regularly updating curricula, launching training programs and micro-credential certifications, and establishing specialized laboratories aligned with market needs—to ensure graduates are ready to adapt to the shifting demands of the digital economy.
