The President of German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Alaaldeen Al-Halhouli, took part in the Second Annual Indi- Arab University Presidents’ Summit, organized by the Association of Arab Universities and hosted by Ajman University in the United Arab Emirates from February 11–12, 2026, under the theme: “Impact Across Borders: Research, Innovation, and Academic Mobility.”

During his participation, Prof. Alaaldeen Al-Halhouli highlighted the experience of GJU in applied education and in linking scientific research to the needs of society and the labor market. He emphasized that the university adopts an educational model focused on building and strengthening partnerships in Jordan and Germany, while fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty members. In this context, the university established the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH), in addition to the Technology, Research and Innovation Park (TRIP).

Professor Prof. Alaaldeen Al-Halhouli affirmed that the university’s participation in this summit aligns with its strategic direction to strengthen its international presence and build high-quality partnerships with distinguished universities in the region and worldwide, contributing to the development of its academic and research programs and enhancing its global competitiveness.

The summit served as a high-level regional platform bringing together a distinguished group of university presidents and higher education leaders from the Arab and Indian sides to explore prospects for cooperation in scientific research and innovation, the development of joint academic programs, and the promotion of academic mobility, amid the rapid transformations taking place in the global higher education sector.

The summit program included plenary sessions and roundtable discussions for university presidents, as well as bilateral meetings dedicated to exploring institutional cooperation opportunities. Discussions focused on artificial intelligence and digital transformation, sustainability and energy, and employability—reflecting a shared commitment to building more flexible and future-responsive educational systems.

On the sidelines of the summit, Prof. Alaaldeen Al-Halhouli signed several memoranda of understanding with Indian universities to enhance academic and research cooperation and develop joint programs, supporting the university’s academic internationalization efforts and opening new horizons for its students and academic staff.
