The Logistic sciences Department at the Business School (BS), German Jordanian University (GJU), recently organized a distinguished workshop in collaboration with AlKasih, a leading company in the food industry. Supervised by Dr. Nizar Shbikat, Assistant Professor and instructor of the “Retail Logistics” (LOGS417) course, the initiative aimed to strengthen constructive collaboration between academia and the industrial sector.

The workshop introduced students to the complexities of the supply chain from a comprehensive end-to-end perspective, enhancing their understanding of practical applications within this vital field.

Ms. Nour Khasawneh, representing Kasih Food Production Co., delivered an in-depth presentation highlighting the importance of streamlining organizational processes and promoting interdepartmental integration within logistics and supply chain management. This was followed by an interactive hands-on session led by Mr. Saif Abdo, which provided students with direct experience of the complex supply chain operations at Alkasih.

The presenters emphasized the importance of such workshops in equipping students with practical skills and real-world experience necessary to excel in the job market. They reiterated the department’s commitment to providing an educational environment that effectively integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application.

The workshop concluded with an extended practical session showcasing available training resources, followed by an interactive Q&A where students engaged directly with Mr. Ali Sartawi. The event ended with a group photo to commemorate the fruitful collaboration.

This workshop reflects GJU’s ongoing commitment to bridging academia and industry through purposeful initiatives that enhance students’ competencies and prepare them for the labor market. It further promotes the concept of interactive learning based on cooperation with leading industrial institutions.
