As part of the strategic partnership between the Directorate of Education and Military Culture and the German Jordanian University (GJU), a joint field visit was carried out to several schools in the southern region, including the governorates of Karak, Tafileh, and Ma’an. The visit aimed to enhance cooperation in the fields of applied education, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
The visit was headed by the Director of Education and Military Culture, Brigadier General Dr. Saleh Al-Khalayleh, and the President of GJU, Prof. Dr. Alaa’ Al-Halhouli. The purpose of the visit was to introduce students to GJU’s applied programs and specialties, assess the educational environment in schools affiliated with the Directorate, and explore avenues of cooperation to develop these environments in ways that support the educational process and strengthen national collaboration efforts.
The delegation visited Al-Qatraneh, Grandal in Tafileh, and Dabbat Hanout and Al-Latrun in Ma’an, where they met with administrative and teaching staff as well as groups of students. They listened to briefings from school principals about the educational process, available facilities, and the schools’ role in serving their local communities.
The delegation also visited Mutah University – Military Wing, where they received a presentation from the Commander of the Military Wing about the university’s establishment and its role in preparing officers equipped with the leadership and academic skills required to serve the nation.
Additionally, the visit included a tour of the Scholarship Office at the university, where the delegation learned about the office’s operations and its role in supporting students studying under the Royal Scholarship Program, ensuring their academic success and continued excellence.
The delegation also toured the Military Science Offices affiliated with the University Education Department, which are responsible for teaching the subjects of Military Science and Citizenship at Jordanian universities. These courses aim to instill national values, discipline, and a sense of Jordanian identity among university students, in line with the mission of the Jordanian Armed Forces to build conscious and loyal citizens.
Brigadier General Dr. Al-Khalayleh emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions and military and public schools. He stated that the Directorate seeks to build bridges with national universities to enrich the educational process, foster critical and creative thinking among students, and keep pace with rapid developments in knowledge and technology.
He added that the Directorate, in coordination with GJU, is working toward establishing innovation and entrepreneurship centers in affiliated schools to promote a culture of creativity and excellence, providing an enabling environment that helps discover talents and develop leadership skills among students.
Dr. Al-Halhouli commended the efforts of the Directorate of Education and Military Culture in supporting education and promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and discipline among students. He reaffirmed GJU’s commitment to expanding its educational and research services to all governorates across the Kingdom, following the German model that integrates theory with practice, thereby producing qualified national competencies for both local and international labor markets.
At the conclusion of the visit, faculty members and students expressed their appreciation for this remarkable initiative, which reflects the Directorate’s and GJU’s commitment to ensuring equal educational opportunities and enhancing the quality of education across all regions of Jordan.
