Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), and Dr. Abdel Fattah Al-Saidi, President of the German International University - Aden (GIU-Aden), recently met to explore opportunities for enhancing academic collaboration between Yemen and Jordan. The discussions focused on potential areas of cooperation across various fields of mutual interest, with the objective of formalizing a memorandum of understanding in the near future.
Prof. Al-Halhouli emphasized GJU's commitment as an international applied university to fostering partnerships with Arab universities. He highlighted the institution’s aim to share its expertise in applied education to benefit Arab youth and strengthen regional academic connections.
Dr. Al-Saidi noted that the collaboration will enhance academic and student exchanges between the two universities. GIU-Aden students will have the opportunity to study in Germany for an academic year, mirroring the experience of GJU students. This initiative is expected to create valuable career opportunities both within Yemen and internationally. Additionally, both universities will work with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to further these cooperative efforts.
During the visit, the delegation from GIU-Aden toured several facilities at GJU, including the library, Open House, and the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH).
