The German Jordanian University (GJU) and the Institute for Family Health, part of the King Hussein Foundation, have formalized a memorandum of cooperation aimed at enhancing knowledge dissemination in family-related issues, training, and humanitarian efforts.

The memorandum was signed by GJU President Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli and Institute Director Dr. Ibrahim Akl, marking a strategic partnership focused on raising awareness of key societal and family issues while building capacity and developing essential skills.

Key components of the agreement include collaborative studies and research, the enhancement of the professional diploma curriculum in social work related to refugees and migrants, as well as the organization of seminars and specialized scientific meetings.

This MoU sets a precedent for cooperation between governmental and private entities, facilitating the delivery of accredited training courses and improving the competencies of personnel within both organizations.

Additionally, the agreement encompasses technical collaboration to implement joint programs and projects, addressing issues comprehensively, and exchanging specialized expertise to foster knowledge sharing and mutual benefits.

Prof. Al-Halhouli emphasized that this partnership aligns with the university's commitment to addressing significant humanitarian challenges, particularly those related to family welfare. He highlighted that cooperation with the Institute of Family Health supports GJU’s mission to promote applied education and scientific research through strategic alliances with both national and international organizations. He expressed optimism for achieving meaningful outcomes that will enhance capacities and provide sustainable solutions to societal and familial challenges.

In response, Dr. Akl noted that the Institute serves as a regional center dedicated to family welfare, offering comprehensive services across its centers in Amman and surrounding governorates. He reiterated the importance of strategic partnerships in elevating the focus on family issues, which are universally acknowledged as vital across communities.

Dr. Akl also emphasized the Institute's commitment to leveraging partnerships with both international and local entities to serve communities, promote knowledge dissemination, and build collaborative networks that empower its staff to transfer expertise to governmental and private institutions, while further enhancing the skills of its workforce.
